About 42nd Street Guitars

42nd Street Guitars was founded by Angela Arnott - the 'Guitar Angel' - a UK-based luthier with more than thirty years experience, regarded as being one of the UKs leading vintage guitar restoration specialists and as such has gained professional membership of N.A.M.I.R (the national association of musical instrument repairers).  Further restoration/repair info is available via our sister website http://guitarangel.co.uk/

Putting our expertise and knowledge to good use, we developed our own range of 'American inspired' guitars, built here in the UK by Angela and her son Tig Arnott. All have high quality components, premium grade tonewoods and old school nitro-cellulose finishes. 42nd street guitars are amongst the top luthier-built instruments available in the UK today. Choose a model from our standard range, or a custom instrument to your own design, and we'll make sure that whatever we make for you is tailored to your style. The attention to detail shines through in our finished instruments, which come with top notch pickups from Bare Knuckle, Radioshop, TV Jones or, specify your own pickup choice. Get in touch for further information or to place an order.

We also offer a range of upgrade and replacement (bolt on) bodies and necks to the same high standards as on fully built guitars. Whether you want to create a pristine new look guitar, or an authentically worn replica in your choice of vintage colour, we can customise to your requirements.

Our guitar kits – body, neck and high quality nickel hardware, aged or as new, are a great way to get started in building your own custom instruments. We take care of the fit and finish, while you get to enjoy putting it all together and adding the electronics of your choice.  All our bodies are machined here in the UK from light weight Swamp Ash, Red Alder, African Mahogany, or your choice of exotic timbers to exacting standards. We test the fit the necks, pickguards and plates before shipping so that your only concern is which pickups and electronics to choose.

Why did we choose the name "42nd Street Guitars"? Quite simply because 42nd Street is a place where dreams come true.

Testimonials

Thanks for the excellent work you did on my Tele. The replacement body looks superb and is a perfect match with the bass players bass, with the white binding and piano black paintwork. The guitar is now 1 and a half pounds lighter! Saving up now for a custom build.
